GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE SCHOOL · English College is a private language school accredited by Polish Association for Standards in English (PASE) · We specialize in teaching practical English to children, teenagers and working adults on all levels of proficiency · The school founded in 1995 is now the leader on the local market with approx. 1000 students and 30 teachers · Majority of English College students are school children and teenagers on beginner, elementary and intermediate level · The school has 5 locations in the city of Radom Radom-Centrum; Radom-Michałów; and surrounding towns: Kozienice; Pionki and Zwoleń · We teach in our own premises, which are very well-equipped with interactive whiteboards / monitors, computers with internet access and access to printers, photocopiers and a very rich EFL library full of teaching aids and photocopiable materials · Apart from the above we also cooperate with: o Local businesses where we run in-company Business English Training, o Local state schools where we offer speaking and cultural classes. Our goal is to promote learning English Language & culture of English Speaking Countries

PASE ACCREDITATION · ENGLISH COLLEGE is one of the 20 private language schools in Poland with PASE accreditation (www.pase.pl). · PASE (Polish Association for Standards in English) is an independent body that takes care of the quality of foreign language teaching in Poland. In order to receive the accreditation the school has to go through a very thorough academic and administrative audit. What PASE auditors examine is: § School curriculum § Teachers’ qualifications § Quality of teaching § Selection of teaching materials § Academic supervision § Professionalism of management § Comfort conditions of learning and teaching § Business ethics - accuracy of the information in advertising materials, manuals, contracts

SCHOOL CURRICULUM · The school uses “dual method “ in which most courses are run by 2 teachers: Polish teacher of English & Native English teacher · The teachers do their classes separately on 2 different days of the week · The curriculum is based on popular EFL coursebooks series from renowned publishers such as Oxford, Pearson, Macmillan, NGL, which students and teachers, are equipped with e.g.: o Children: PIPPA & POP (Cambridge), GIVE ME FIVE (Macmillan) TODAY (Pearson) o Teenagers: GOLD EXPERIENCE (Pearson), FORMULA (Pearson), READY FOR (Macmillan); LIFE VISION (Oxford) o Adults: ENGLISH FILE (Oxford); KEYNOTE (NGL) and OUTCOMES (NGL) · The content of the coursebooks is to serve as base material for practical and communicative lessons. The Native English teacher’s main job is to practice spoken English, pronunciation and develop students’ vocabulary · Both teachers receive coursebook material divisions, so it is clear who is responsible for which part of the book. · Teachers are expected to supplement the coursebook material with practical activities · Each course has its objective – so called “target exam” - internationally recognized l-ge proficiency certificate such as: o Cambridge YLE for children on 4 levels A1-A2 CEFR) o Cambridge English First, Cambridge English Advanced; CAMBRIDGE IELTS for teenagers and adults
